ZNZ PhD Grants 2025

The Board of the Bertha-Meierhofer Fund has awarded PhD grants to three young research groups to fund doctoral student positions.

The following students are supported:

Hanna Preuss in the group of Mohamad El Amki will investigate the landscapes and dynamics of brain vascular development and how maternal hypertension affects lifelong brain vascular health in offspring.

Clément Lhoste in Olivier Lambercy’s group plans to investigate the use of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation, that could help recruit widespread neuromodulatory networks to promote plasticity and support motor recovery in stroke.

Anna Lassne in the group of Marina Herwerth will elucidate the role of microglia in the regenerative process of astrocyte-depleted lesions in adult brain that can be found e.g. in patients suffering from Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder.
