Institute: Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Neuropharmacology
Research focus: Are Oligodendrocytes the missing link of pain and metabolism? Our lab studies how metabolic imbalances affect myelin homeostasis in the central nervous system, focusing on their role in pain development.

My motivation to do my research: Curiosity! Since learning about genetic transmission as a child, I’ve been fascinated by the intricate biology of the world around us. Exploring the molecular foundations of pathologies and traits fuels my passion and keeps me inspired every day.

Position: Senior Physician
Institute: Psychedelic Research & Therapy Development, Department of Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Psychiatric University Clinic Zurich and University of Zurich
Research focus: We study how psychedelics enhance brain plasticity and support therapeutic processes. Our goal is to address mental health conditions such as stress-related disorders, addiction, anxiety, and chronic pain. By bridging neuropharmacology and psychotherapy innovation, we aim to develop safe and effective treatments that redefine mental health care.
Last professional station: Clinical residency and postdoctoral research at the Department of Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Psychiatric University Clinic Zurich and University of Zurich, Switzerland
My motivation to do my research: I am passionate about understanding consciousness, from its molecular foundation to lived experience. With a background in medicine, neuroscience, and psychotherapy, I aim to bridge research and practice. My goal is to translate scientific insights into innovative treatments that improve patients’ lives.
One thing you shouldn’t miss, when you stay in Zurich: Enjoy the tranquility of Rieterpark near the Rietberg Museum, especially in spring when magnolias and cherry trees are in bloom. Experience the art of tea culture at Shui Tang, where tradition meets serenity.
