PhD students of the Neuro-Vascular-Glia Network organized a new seminar series for early-career scientists. The goal is to broaden their knowledge of the biology of different brain cell types, experimental approaches and potential clinical applications.
In October 2018, the working group ‘Neuro-Glia-Vascular Network’ was founded as a joint initiative of ZNZ and the Clinical Neurocenter at the University Hospital (KNZ). The goal of the initiative is the promotion of interdisciplinary research in neurovascular medicine. Cerebrovascular disease is the second most common cause of death worldwide and it becomes increasingly clear that vasculature and glia also play a role in other brain diseases.
As part of this initiative a seminar series is organized by Dr. Annika Keller, Division of Neurosurgery, University Hospital Zurich, and PhD students of the NVG Network:
- Yvette Zarb, former PhD student Dept. of Neurosurgery, UZH, USZ
- Chaim Glück, PhD student Dept. of Pharmacology and Toxicology, UZH
- George Louloudis, PhD student, Institute for Biomedical Engineering, UZH, ETH
The series is financed by the ZNZ, see ZNZ Grants web page
The seminars are open to every interested ZNZ and KNZ member and their group members. If you want to present your project or a project idea and join the network, please, contact Annika Keller.
