Grants for Alzheimer’s research

Synapsis Foundation – Alzheimer Research Switzerland ARS announces a competition for Research Grants and Career Development Awards. Deadline for submission of proposals is 31 July 2018.

The goal of the Synapsis Foundation is to support innovative research projects on Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

With the Research Grants for principal investigators, the synapsis foundation supports research projects directed by independent principal investigators at Swiss Universities and Research Institutions. The goal of this grant is to support high-risk proposals based on sound science and truly original ideas related to the Alzheimer’s research.
Funded projects are supported with up to CHF 300’000 for up to 3 years.

The Career Development Awards competition is directed supporting advanced postdoctoral researchers at Swiss Universities and Research Institutions. The goal of this award is to accelerate the transition to a faculty position in Switzerland or EMBO member countries. A Synapsis Foundation Career Award consists of 2 phases: Phase 1 is carried out as a postdoctoral fellow in a host laboratory for a period of up to 2 years. Phase 2 supports the researcher in an independent faculty position.
Total funding is CHF 100’000 per year for a period of up to 4 years.
