Robert Riener of the Sensory Motor Systems Lab talked about the assistive and therapeutic use of robotic devices at this year’s IBSA Foundation Forum.
A large part of Prof. Riener’s talk at the Forum entitled “New technologies to treat neurodisorders: neuroprosthetics”, was devoted to the exciting new developments of exoskeletons for assistive use. Exoskeletal devices of different groups were also showcased at the cybathlon 2016 that took place in the Swiss Arena in Kloten in October 2016 and of which Riener was the initiator and main organizer.
