The future is bright for Patrick Freund and Salomé Kurth. They each won a SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship with which they are on the road to a permanent professorship.
With its new Eccellenza funding scheme, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) supports outstanding researchers on the path to a permanent professorship. The SNSF will cover project expenses as well as salaries for up to 1 million Swiss francs for five years.
Patrick Freund at the Spinal Cord Injury Center at the Balgrist University Hospital received the Award for his project “Interactions between spinal cord and brain during impaired sensorimotor information flow after cervical spinal cord injury”
Salomé Kurth at the Sleep and Health Center, University of Zurich, and the Pulmonary Clinic, University Hospital Zurich, was awarded the fellowship for her project “Development of sleep regulation – a window of opportunity for fostering healthy development”
