The central question of Dr. von der Behrens’ research is how the central nervous system adapts to the sensory environment and input and vice-versa how this adaptation shapes perception. The model for answering these questions is the rodent primary sensory cortex with a particular focus on the neuronal representation of deviating stimuli.
